Responsible for 51 black-type winners and 35 individual group/graded winners—including 10 at the highest level—Heart’s Cry had sired local and international celebrities such as Ladbrokes Cox Plate (G1) winner Lys Gracieux , Just a Way , Suave Richard , and Cheval Grand .
Heart’s Cry is also the sire of Yoshida , the 2018 winner of the Old Forester Turf Classic (G1T) on turf and the Woodward Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) on dirt. Yoshida entered stud at WinStar Farm in Kentucky in 2020.

Bred by Shadai Farm, Heart’s Cry is a son of Sunday Silence and out of the Tony Bin mare Irish Dance. He stood for a private fee at Shadai this term.
The veteran has also enjoyed top-level success as a broodmare sire, with his daughters producing Neds Blue Diamond Stakes (G1) winner Tagaloa and Satsuki Sho (Japanese Two Thousand Guineas, G1) victor Efforia among six black-type victors.
On the track, Heart’s Cry won his maiden at the first attempt at 3 before winning two listed contests and also finishing second in the then listed Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby).
He was named Japanese Horse of the Year at 4 when winning the Arima Kinen, defeating the mighty Deep Impact in the process, while he was also second in the Japan Cup, Takarazuka Kinen, and Sankei Osaka Hai.
Heart’s Cry returned to win the Nakheel Dubai Sheema Classic (G1) at 5 and was also third to Hurricane Run in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes (G1). He retired with five wins and seven placings from 19 starts and $8,054,175 in prize money.
He has 20 yearlings and three weanlings entered for the Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale from July 12-13.
