Rockliffe Hall, a North East luxury hotel, golf and spa resort, has made two senior hires – naming Katie Towersey as spa director and Callum Nicoll as director of golf and estates.
Towersey has over 20 years of experience within the spa and wellness industry, with several years spent working with brands such as Jurlique, ESPA and L’Occitane.
Towersey joins from her most recent position as spa manager at Verbena Spa at Feversham Arms Hotel, which followed spa manager roles at The Peak Health Club and Spa at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London and SoSPA Sofitel London St James.
In her new role, Towersey will be responsible for Rockliffe Hall’s 50,000 square feet spa, one of the “most luxurious and also largest in the country”.
She will be working alongside Rockliffe Hall’s spa partners Neom, Comfort Zone, and OPI to bring a “refreshed offering of first-class treatments”.
Meanwhile, Nicoll will oversee the resort’s “award-winning 18-hole championship golf course”.
Nicoll joins from his most recent position as director of golf at London Golf Club where he was responsible for a 36-hole course delivering 44,000 rounds per annum.
Nicoll has also held senior golf positions at Turnberry Hotel’s Golf Resort and Spa, Prestwick Golf Club, The Els Club Dubai and Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Jason Adams, managing director of Rockliffe Hall, said: “I am delighted to welcome both Katie and Callum to our senior team. They each show a great amount of passion, knowledge, and experience in their respective fields of spa and golf.
“With their appointments, I am confident we will only drive Rockliffe Hall even further towards meeting the very highest levels of hospitality that our guests visit to experience.”
Rockliffe Hall opened in November 2009, and is set within 375 acres of grounds on the banks of the River Tees just outside the village of Hurworth, County Durham. Currently, it houses 61 bedrooms.
