Roger Federer is ready to return to the field on the ATP circuit. Next week, the 39-year-old champion from Basel will play as seeded number 1 in a 250 tournament on Geneva clay. After benefiting from the bye in the first round, the Swiss in the second will meet the winner between the Australian Jordan Thompson and Pablo Andujar.

Federer said in an interview with Leman Blue TV that he was vaccinated with Pfizer against Covid-19. In short, King Roger is ready to return to play on clay after almost two years, from Roland Garros 2019, when he lost in the semi-final to Rafael Nadal, while this year he only played in Doha two months ago losing in the quarter-finals against the Georgian Basilashvili.

Marc Rosset opens up on Roger Federer

In an interaction with Swiss magazine Illustre, Marc Rosset first laid bare his reverence for Roger Federer’s tennis skills. When asked to pick one of Federer’s skills that he would like to possess, Rosset went with the 20-time Major champion’s ability to read the game better than anyone else.

“Some say he is diplomatic, but listen to his press conferences, he says it all,” Rosset said. “For me, Nadal and Federer are Siamese twins, for their simplicity and their humility, in their values and the conception of their sport.

If one day they both go fishing, I wouldn’t be surprised.” Marc Rosset also spoke about Federer’s wife Mirka, who he believes has played a big role in the Swiss’ success with her concerted all-round efforts.

“For me, he owes her 50% of his success,” Rosset said. “She took a lot of things into her own hands, including communication.” The Italian Open 2021 will conclude tonight after the final clash between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

However, in just two weeks’ time, the tennis circus will move to Paris for the French Open 2021. It was supposed to begin one week early but due to the current condition in Paris because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the management delayed it by a week.

The French Open 2021 will begin on May 30, 2021, and will extend till June 13, 2021. The qualifiers will begin on May 24, 2021, and will conclude by May 28, 2021. France TV Sport and Prime Video are the two official broadcasters of the French Open 2021.

However, across Europe, fans will get to watch the Grand Slam on Eurosport. Other European local broadcasters like ORF, EPT, Servus TV, and more will also broadcast the tournament in different parts of the continent.
