If you don’t want to give sweets to your family or friends, think about one of these Spice Blends to Give for a Holiday Gift! This post has links for different spice blends I’ve made and shared on Kalyn’s Kitchen or some favorite spices or blends you can buy, and all of these have been a hit with my family and friends.
What do you give for a holiday gifts when you don’t want to give sweets? Through the years I’ve had a few favorite spice and herb blends that I like to mix up in large batches and give as gifts during the holiday season. When I manage to plan ahead, I order small glass jars to put the spice mix in, but I’ve also given them in mini zip-top bags with the recipe stapled on. Whatever works at this busy time of year, right?
If you’re looking for easy ideas for Spice Blends to Give for a Holiday Gift, here are a my favorite homemade gifts from Kalyn’s Kitchen or some of my favorites to give when I just want to buy a gift!
Spice Blends to Make for a Holiday Gift:
One of my favorite spice blends is a Moroccan Spice Mix I’ve been making for quite a few years. Through the years I’ve loved this mix on Roasted Carrots and Roasted Butternut Squash. And it would also be tasty on sweet potatoes, cauliflower, parsnips, or turnips!
One of the first herb blends I made and shared on the blog was this Rosemary Salt, my own version of a rosemary salt blend I purchased at the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market in San Francisco.
When I want spicy Mexican flavors, I always use Kalyn’s Taco Seasoning.
It’s not that photogenic, but Kalyn’s Herb Blend is another one I’ve given for gifts.
Finally, I’m guessing the most popular spice mix I’ve ever given as a gift would be this Sweet Potato Fries Spice Mix. (That post has a larger size of the spice blend, plus links to all the recipes on my blog where I’ve used it.)
Spice Blends to Make or Buy for a Gift:
If you have steak-lovers on your Christmas list, you can make this Sugar-Free Montreal Steak Seasoning for a holiday gift. But even though I do like that homemade blend, now I’d probably just buy Szeged Steak Rub (affiliate link) for the steak-lovers on my list.
Years ago I came up with this recipe Chicken Seasoning Rub, and no one who cooks chicken would mind getting that as a gift. But now I’m a huge fan of the Szeged Chicken Rub (affiliate link) for seasoning chicken and I’d probably just guy that to give away.
And of course my love for Szeged Fish Rub (affiliate link) is pretty well documented on the blog! This gift would be a hit with anyone who cooks fish!
For people you want to spend a bit more on you couldn’t go wrong with giving any cook the combo of Szeged Steak Rub (affiliate link), Szeged Fish Rub (affiliate link), and Szeged Chicken Rub (affiliate link)!
And anyone who loves Hungarian food would love to get this amazing Szeged Paprika (affiliate link) for a holiday gift!
And finally, everyone who knows me knows how I love Spike Seasoning (affiliate link) and I’d definitely give that as a holiday gift if I had friends who hadn’t discovered it yet!
